LUMEN PUNKS - Bright spots in the life of the artist KJF

The work by the German artist Kastor Jürgen Fischer, also known as Kastor or KJF, is subject to constant change and unfolds within the tension between figurative and abstract representation. In his images, collages, cut-outs, paintings and drawings, Kastor demystifies art. His artistic approach aims to create something pictorial that has a harmonizing effect – a visual representation of flowing energy and light.

“Die Zeit eilt davon und mit dieser meine Chancen als Künstler.”

“Time is running out and with it my chances as an artist.”

–Kastor Jürgen Fischer

His art movement, defined as LUMEN ART, is based on geometric principles and elements that go beyond the boundaries of the visible. Stylistically, he was influenced by constructivism and surreal elements, but also incorporated other styles of his century such as cubism and futurism - especially in the paintings of his LUMEN PUNKS.

These are conceived as a series, but even as individual images, they retain their fascination. They are more than just paintings and not faithful depictions of real beings; rather they are psychological portraits, mirrors of his soul, and metamorphic representations of his mind – inspired by the cosmic mysteries of the universe, quantum theory, and knowledge of nanotechnology.

His style combines geometric shapes with bright colors, reminiscent of the color codes of the Cypherpunk aesthetic in contemporary NFT projects, while also carrying a deep spiritual meaning. Each work is a fragment of itself, an expression of his innermost thoughts and feelings. They were created at a time when the art scene seemed to be threatened by commercialization through the free flow of capital, when photography was conquering the world of collectors, and talk of the end of painting was reignited once again. Kastor's vehement resistance to the art market isolated him.

His world, full of doubt and uncertainty, kept him in the shadow of the mainstream. He was a tireless seeker, looking into the future. The visionary power of his work is becoming great acceptance today. Kastor created his oeuvre out of an inner urge. For him, beings of all manifestations as well as "spherical spaces of event" were light. His entire life's work revolved around a molecular "light substance" that he was fortunate to experience firsthand. As an enlightened spirit, in the truest sense of the word, he was called to the project of art.

The relevance of his works in relation to the manifesto of the Cypherpunk movement (1990s) and to PFP culture with the beginning of CryptoPunks (2017) demonstrates mutual respect for the visionary KJF, wherever he felt drawn to.“
